Hi everyone,

I am very new to the game of streaming and recording games for sharing on social media sites, and I have been confronted with a few rather annoying and equally confusing problems with my OBS software.

The short hand is that I have been experiencing some extreme and indeed embarrassing "lag" and sometimes "sound" amongst other performance problems. Though not with games but mainly with the recording themself. I have tried to set higher and lower the "fps" and also lower the "resolution" of the video recording, however to sometime very minor effect. Also the software wont go over 60fps without quitting / cutting the recordings all to gather.

I am also looking into upgrading my system, mainly the graphic card and cpu. This is due to the demand of the games and the recording process.

My Current system is:
- AMD A4 3.0 GHz (duel core)
- Nvidia Gefore GT 610 1GB graphics card
- 8GB DDR3 Ram
- Realteck Integrated sound card
- 1TB Hard drive

I am looking to upgraded my graphics to a XFX Radeon R9 380 (4GB) and the cpu to a A10 quad core for more reliability. However, it there something that I can to the fix the situation of lag and other sound and performance issues that I am having with my OSB software?

Many thanks

No idea, need some harder evidence of the problem, like OBS log files, VODs, etc. Your current computer would be horrible at encoding video with OBS, by the way. Just upgrading may solve many of your problems. Although, I would try to go past an A10 to an Intel i5 or i7, or AMD 8350. The A10 doesn't perform well with OBS for x264 encoding.

@DamienGC your best bet is to wait until you get your 380 and use VCE hardware encoder either in OBS Multiplatform or this build of OBS https://obsproject.com/forum/threads/obs-branch-with-amd-vce-support.13996/

I would avoid using x264 with even an a10 APU
