Question / Help New to streaming, what does "minimize network impact" do?

I was just curious what "Minimize Network Impact" actually does. Is there a downside to using it? If it reduces the lag impact streaming causes, why wouldn't I want it on all the time?

The downside is it makes your connection more susceptible to frame drops, so you need a good connection to the selected server to use it.
