Hello,

I want to start streaming with a 2nd pc.
I have bought an Avermedia live gamer capture card but i do have some questions.

1. I see the card has input/out. but is it possible to like only use the input with like a hdmi splitter or something?
2. My streaming pc has to be also on when i not stream? or how do you do this?
3. Do you lose any quality like respond times on the main monitor? if you output from the 2nd pc? in case with fps games?

Thanks.

1) It is possible to use a splitter. Or what I do is clone my screen.
2) Not sure if you use the passthrough. If you split or clone, then it doesn't have to be on when you're not streaming. If your monitor and graphics card have multiple outputs, you can put one output directly to the monitor and the other to the capture card.
3) If you use passthrough it probably lags a little, I've never used the passthrough however so I don't know. The possibility of this is why I clone my screen instead. It might be faster than 1 frame of lag in which case there would be no effect.

Thanks for the fast respons.
What do you mean with the passthroug?
And i didn't think about that. I can try that ofcourse.
I hope it doesn't give problems since i have 3 monitors but will see.
Thanks.

Oh, and if you do clone your screen then ? you only use 1 of your gpu hdmi to the input to the capture card.
And the output is not used then right.

Passthrough is the feature that allows you to use the "Output" of your capturecard to connect a Monitor behind it. It just means the video signal is being "passed through" from the input of the capturecard to its output. Normally this should not add a latency or alter the video, but this depends on the quality of the capture card and its passthrough implementation.
If you clone the screen you would connect the HDMI out of your graphics card to the HDMI in on the capture card, the out of the capture card stays empty.

For example:
GPU - DVI - 1st Monitor
- DP - 2nd Monitor
- DP - 3rd Monitor
- HDMI - 1st Monitor cloned to capture card HDMI in

Of course, it depends on the capabilities of your graphics card.
