Question / Help New Streamer

Hey there! I'm a new streamer and I am having some trouble with OBS. (Just a note: I am running Webroot, but I looked through old posts and added OBS to the ignore list and I also tried disabling the Identity Shield and still had no luck).
OBS is not letting me paste my Stream Code, but I typed it out and then when i press start stream I get this error:

"Could not access the specified channel or stream key. This could be because the key/channel is invalid, or because the server still thinks you are logged in.

rtmp://live.justin.tv/app:
NetStream.Publish.Rejected (Authentication Failed.)"

It looks like this is a problem on Twitch's part, any help would be appreciated!

*EDIT*
I realize I posted this in the wrong section, if someone could move this topic to the right section it would be much appreciated! Thanks!

I can't see any reason why you wouldn't be able to paste the stream key into the correct field, there is no reason OBS would lock you out of that field if you picked the proper streaming service.

Regardless, that error really means what it says -- Either the stream key was not entered, entered incorrectly or it's invalid. Let's assume it's option 3, an invalid key. You can always just reset your stream key. This is done by going into your Twitch.TV dash board, clicking on Streaming Apps, clicking on Show Key and then clicking on Reset Key. Copy/paste this new key, wait half an hour for Twitch to have processed propagating this new key throughout their infrastructure and then try again.

I reset the key last night and the stream is still not working this morning.
On a side note, OBS still will not allow me to paste my stream key.

Thank you dodgepong!

Again, when you're selecting the proper broadcast mode and service, there is no reason for OBS to prevent you from pasting the stream key. Consequently, I am going to assume you're either not copying it correctly or some other process is preventing you from copy/pasting it. OBS does not do this.

When I copy it, I can paste it anywhere but OBS. I also can't paste anything into the dashboard url location. Since I followed the quick start guide and it still isn't working, do you have any helpful suggestions?

Yes. Either having someone you know that happens to have experience using OBS come over to set it up for you or using something like http://www.teamviewer.com/en/index.aspx to have someone set it up for you over the Internet. I have no idea what is going on for you but really, OBS does not behave like this. I tried everything I could to try and reproduce this behaviour and no matter how hard I try, I cannot get OBS to lock me out of those fields.

It is something specific to your system.

Alright thank you for all of your help!

Would anyone be willing to skype so I could share my screen and someone can take a look at my settings?

*EDIT*
"Have you tried turning it off and on again?"
I re-installed and now it's working great! Thanks for all of your time!
