Trying to stream for the first time. Shows up on OBS (video and audio) but doesn't connect to You Tube or give me the option to "go live". Tried posting a screen shot.

Include a log file if you have a problem: here's how
To upload a log file, go to the Help menu -> Log Files -> Upload current/last log file. The current log file is for the currently active running session. The last log file is for the last time you ran the program. We recommend always including it just in case.

Open OBS. Start an output session (streaming or recording). Observe your issue. Stop the output session. Upload the Current log without quitting OBS.

It actually worked. Now all I need to figure out is how to record what's coming out of my DAW directly to my feed. Is that possible?

OBS can record whatever audio is sent to a virtual device like iShowU or SoundFlower. If your DAW can send it there, or to an aggregate audio device created by MIDI setup that includes that virtual device, then you can.
If not, it may be useful to use 3rd party software like LoopBack that provides more advanced routing possibilities, including per-track routing and multiple arbitrary virtual devices.
