Contemplating BMC Intensity shuttle vs. Elgato HD60s vs. Avermedia line up.
Main usage: Facebook liveshow stream/Youtube liveshow stream. 2hour+ streaming. The stream will have lower third, transition to commercial break, green screen usage. Basically a talk show.
Facebook supports 720p
I need to stream and record master at the same time. Going to reupload the master 1080p on youtube.
Camera: DSLR/Sony a6300
Computer: Laptop i7 4720 2.6ghz + 16gb ram + win 10 + GTX970M
Setting this up for a client. At the moment they only have Mac laptop. But will buy a new windows laptop for this purpose.

Currently I have a BMC Intensity Shuttle 3.0 given as a loan unit by the shop.

BMC
- It only has 1080i input. When I tested the recorded master video using OBS, my mp4 video looks pixelated. Especially when I move fast.
- Doesn't have native streaming software. I have to use OBS
- very old model.
- compatibility issue. afraid if the client bought a new laptop, it wont work.

Elgato HD60s
- Looks cool, many streamer, twicher recommends it.
- Native streaming software.
- From my readings, the native software doesn't support master recording which is quite a letdown. It this correct?

Avermedia
- Not sure which one
-Even cooler native streaming software.
-not sure the pro and con

I don't mind using OBS. Though with this live setup, I'm going to pass the torch of streaming to my client so they can do by them self. Hence why I need to consider other capture device that comes with native software.

Any recommendation ?
I think BMC has better hardware inside it (could be wrong) since they are the "professional" standard. but it is an OLD model.
Saw review for the razer ripsaw. Super cool looking hardware. though it has the same chipboard layout with avermedia.

Thank you very much.

It's BMD not BMC
Not sure what the "C" in your "BMC" stands for, but their name is Black Magic Design.

Depending on what's available you may also look at:
1> Blackmagic ultrastudio.
2> Switching to a dj travel case rackmounted desktop computer and going with the intensity pro 4k or a decklink line card. (This is the option I went with for a portable setup.

Elgato software has a very bad history, when used with other recording/streaming applications like obs, of causing:
1> crashes
2> the other software to not launch
3> more crashes

We generally don't recommend elgato for new purchases. Twitch streamers may recommend it, but they likely have sponsor bias.

Razer ripsaws are quite literally a re-brand of the corresponding avermedia cards with worse support software and a higher price tag.

thank you for the suggestion..
your setup is quite extensive and expensive. though it is a good setup.
after currency rate conversion, stuff could get expensive here.
That's why I'm looking at the price range of elganto hd60s and BMD shuttle 3.0

but even with elganto software crashing, I can still use it with obs right?? how about the hardware itself?

I'm just looking for a simple setup at the moment. plug n live.

I need a confidence point to stick with BMD intensity shuttle 3.0 because the 1080i and old model is quite bothering when I think about it. Considering there are other newer capture card out there. at least for me. Or I shouldn't be worry about it???

Is there any specific reason you are going for USB 3.0? you might want to look into the avermedia BU110 extremcap UVC. avermedia those have native streaming software but it wont allow you to make sense transition as you want. Nonetheless it works perfectly with OBS and there is no need for driver installation. and as a plus It can take 1080i as well as 1080p signals depending what you rather work with, also has some onboard video processing like up/downscale or deinterlacing.

Got myself Avermedia LGP2.
Nothing wrong with usb 2.0. Just that better for future proofing.
Avermedia BU110 looks super cool. But out of budget range. Plus not available over the counter here. Online order only.

Thank you for your suggestion

Is there a current list of recommended cards? Need something quick and cheap(for now) that will take the 1080i 60fps signal from Canon r800 and put out 1080p 60fps--or even 720p60fps. I just got a camlink and the interlacing is terrible. Maybe I don't have the right settings. It sounds like the avermedia gl310 might be an option?

Or the CV710 which is older version of Extremecap? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00G9QTUV...olid=1S5SZEUIT7AVL&psc=0&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it
