Hello there.

After long time I decied to register here and try to search for help.

My problem is that OBS drops few frames, some skips but most of them are lagged/stalls.

I have tried everything possible for me, from using HW and SW encoder, lowering bitrate from 3000kbps to 2500kbps, nothing helps no matter i set.

I bought week ago new, more powerful CPU (see log please) but even 16 cores doesnt help.

Im actually playing Doom Eternal and only one thing which help me a little bit is to cap my FPS in-game using Radeon control centre (Radeon Chill to be correct) to max 144 fps. If i remove that limit OBS drops a lot of frames and a lot of are lagged.

I also did clean install of Windows 10 1909, legal version also all info is in log.

Im about to buy capture card but I was streaming Doom 2016 with the same settings for almost 200 hours and never dropped frame or lagged frame, maybe its the game but Im not 100% sure, there are still drops with any game at all no matter graphics settings.

Hope I told you everything, ask me if I miss something important.

Have nice day.

Run OBS as Administrator, this will enable a workaround added in OBS 24.0.3 allowing OBS to take GPU priority over the game to handle its housekeeping tasks before the game eats the rest. If GPU overload is causing the rendering delay (and usually does) that should help fix it.

I will try it why not. My CPu is utilized at around 30-50% when playing Doom Eternal and GPU have spikes up to 80% since I have capped my FPS as I stated above.

Game mode also has to be enabled in windows for the GPU prioritization to work. According to your logs, it is currently off.

Yes, a few days ago I disabled it. I turned it ON right now and after lunch Im going to stream. I also made some changes to the output as changed input res. from FHD to HD so there will be no downscale and also changed from CBR to CQP (I set 21 for try) as few people have seen this helpful.

If you're streaming, leave your bitrate control on CBR - streaming services have a limit on the bitrate they can accept. CQP attempts to achieve the quality level intended, and the resulting bitrate can easily fluctuate well beyond the limits of what stream services can accept (not to mention what your connection can provide).

CQP is for recording
CBR is for streaming

Oh okay thank you for info. I switched it back to CBR and gonna try stream to see if changed settings I did made any changes on stream.

UPDATE: Runnings and Admin and with Gaming Mode On had no changes. I streamed for about 4 hours and still there are drops. Any next idea, please? Im running out of ideas.

This is incorrect information. Game Mode does not need to be on, OBS just needs to be running as Administrator. It just doesn't matter if Game Mode is on, starting with Win10 1909; it doesn't have the negative impact it did in older versions of Windows.

Okay last update for you all. Solved my issue.
Capped even more my FPS with Radeon Chill (from 85 to 105 fps) and all lagged images are gone.
Its a bir weird that I HAVE to limit my FPS to have no sttuter on lag but still better to play at 100FPS on my 144Hz monitor and have nice stream.

So im marking my thread as Solved.
