Question / Help Need help with Skype, VoiceMeeter Banana and OBS

I'm having an issue with setting up all 3 of these softwares so they work together.

I want to run Skype audio through Voicemeeter Banana, so it's on it's own channel, and send the skype audio to my headset AND to OBS. I have tried this several times, but I wind up getting echo or static.

It's driving me nuts.

Suggestions? I really want this to work.

I'm using Banana, and I have followed the instructions, but I'm having the same problem: Echo in OBS, and the skype caller can hear themselves.

I want it so the Game audio and Skype audio runs to OBS, and my headset.

On Voicemeeter Banana there is full Mix-Minus feature to send audio sources to the five output busses independtly...

On the skype caller strip, did you switch off the B buttons (to prevent to send it back again to the BUS B1 or B2 used to feed OBS input or Skype Input) ?

I have A1 and B2 set on the skype strip.
A1 is so I can hear what the caller is saying. I thought B2 is sent to OBS, so I think.

I am fairly new to Voicemeeter Banana, and I really need help from someone who is willing to work with setting it up.
I have no idea how to set this up correctly, and I really want this to work.

Can someone please take the time out to help me with this problem?

After trying for almost a week, I've decided to give up using VoiceMeeter Banana. I got it to work, but now it just keeps acting up. I'm no longer going to use it.

I've been using Voicemeeter for almost 2 years now, and i'm a bit confused as to what you're trying to achieve.
The purpose I used it for was to get Skype chat OUT of my recordings/streams.

In Skypes audio settings, you need to output to your headset.
In Windows's Audio properties, you need to set your headset as the default playback device on your PC for games to output sound to it.
In OBS you generally choose "Default" or "Wave/Stereo Mix" in Desktop Audio Device

Why do you want Skype "in its own channel"?

The main goal is to feed the game audio to both Skype and OBS. I figured that I could do that by simply having skype in it's own channel, but that's not working. I want the callers on skype to hear the game audio, while it's running through OBS.

Ah now I understand. I'm using the normal Voicemeeter but it should be the same:
  • Set "VoiceMeeter Input" as your default Playback Device in Windows
  • In Skype set "VoiceMeeter Output" as your Microphone, and your speakers as normal (ie. headset/speakers
In VoiceMeeter you want to:
  • In "Hardware Out A1" you want to select MME: Speakers
  • In "Hardware Input 1" set as your MME: Microphone
  • - Leave only "B1" activated in the lower section
  • In Virtual Input leave only "A1" activated
In OBS, set your Desktop Audio Device as your Speakers, not voicemeeter or default.

I'm having a similar issue with this. I want to be able for viewers to hear my music without using my speakers for them to hear, use my mic at the same time, and hear the game/music on my headset. I understand some things about VoiceMeeter, but in it I only see the option to select an 1 application for viewers to hear, such as a music player. I want to be able to capture two different applications (both my music and game sounds) for my viewers to hear, hear both game and music sounds via headset, and still use my mic all at the same time. Any idea how to accomplish this? I'm still rather new to this. >_<
