Question / Help Need help using OBS

I am a total newbie!
I have a DVD (homemade on my DVD deck) of video of my son in his early years and I think the DVD might be starting to fail. I want to get the video off the DVD and put on my computer and a flash drive. I have tried everything I can think of and nothing works. most of my other videos I was able to just copy the files and paste them elsewhere, but not this DVD. I have two segments that are around 2 hours in length on this one DVD

OBS was recommended to me, but all the you tube videos are from older versions. Can anyone point me to some tutorials (or other options) that use the latest version of OBS so I can try to save my son's video? He just graduated high school and this video is precious to me.

OBS is not at all made for converting different media like that. While you technically probably could, it would be very awkward and not at all good.

You should look into something like MakeMKV or HandBrake, or any other software that would label itself as "DVD Backup Software" or similar.
