Question / Help Need help solving this...

Straight to the point:

When I set my CPU preset on anything under "Veryfast", my stream becomes choppy. Using "Veryfast" or above, the stream is silky smooth.

I am trying to achieve the perfect 1080p stream. I am more than capable of streaming at 1080p.

My upload is 10 mbps and I have an i7 2600k @ 4.5Ghz. I've tried streaming at 6000 bit-rate for 1080p, but that makes it harder for viewers to watch, and also, doesn't even look good!

4000 bit-rate with CPU preset on "Fast" looks INCREDIBLE!

I just don't understand why my stream becomes choppy.

It likely becomes choppy because you're over-stressing your CPU by changing the preset. It warns you about that when you try to change it.

To expound a bit, changing your preset is much more drastic than it sounds. Your instinct is to think that "faster" isn't much slower than "veryfast", but it's actually MUCH more intense on your CPU. What you are experiencing is standard behavior...faster is much slower and harder on your CPU than veryfast.

The only want to overcome this is to get a more powerful processor with a good overclock. It helps even more if it is a dedicated streaming computer that doesn't run the game.
