Hey folks, so I've noticed when recording certain games there are a ton of compression artifacts. Which I attributed to downscaling from 1440p to 1080p. So I decided to just record at 1440p to capture all the details since I don't need to worry about bitrate, I post mainly to youtube. However the problem still persists.
Is this just a matter of choosing the right encoder, or is there something different? It shouldn't be my hardware, as I have a ryzen 9 3900x with 32 gigs of RAM, along with a 2080, and I've set it up to use my CPU rather than GPU for encoding, since I have the computing power. It also shouldn't be a storage issue as it records straight to a WD Blue SSD, though I can have it record to my NVME SSD if that happens to be the problem.
I am somewhat new ish to the idea of OBS, so I'm not 100% sure which encoders do what, and what issues can end in this result. Audio is totally fine however. Thanks!
Full Hardware specs:
Ryzen 9 3900x (with sufficient cooling)
32 Gigs 3200mhz RAM
RTX 2080
Primary monitor 1440p 144hz
Secondaries 2x 1080p 60hz
