Hello, I'm confused regarding the process of what options actually do what regarding OBS and audio (for webcams and mics). Let me walk you through what I'm dealing with:
I am not having audio issues necessarily, my viewers can hear me through my webcam mic, but I can't seem to get my standalone BlueSnowball mic to work properly, which led to this series of questions.

Many YouTube tutorials for setting up webcams show motion on this audio bar in tune with the streamer talking. This bar never moves for me, which makes me wonder if OBS is even picking up my webcam at all, or if my PC is just outputting it some other way and my viewers are hearing my voice like it's other desktop audio (music/desktop sounds). What is the proper process for setting up a mic with audio? Some people say to enable the audio through this option (the source specific menu)

Others say to set it up in settings using this menu:

Which one is correct, and what needs to change to get my BlueSnowball to work? Can I display my webcam video, disable the webcam audio and use audio from the BlueSnowball instead? When I attempt to enable the Snowball I don't get any audio (yes,it's plugged into my computer) Also, I can't seem to change the audio level of my webcam, it seems to be really sensitive and picks up every noise in the house. Going to Sound on my computer and changing the levels doesn't affect the sound in any way (again, it stays the same regardless of level change)

I have not included a log file as it seems to be an issue with my settings, or possibly just my computer settings and nothing to do with OBS. Please help, I've attempted to be as thorough in my explanation as possible.
Thanks
