Question / Help Need help optimizing stream.

I'm pretty new when it comes to streaming and numerous friends have helped me with settings here and there, but I always seem to lag still. It wasn't until today that I was watching someone with the same PC but a worse GFX card stream and have a noticeably better FPS experience.

My PC specs are as follows:

CPU: Intel(R) Core™ i5-3570 3.40 GHz
RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws X 8GB 2133 Mhz
GFX: GTX 970 4GB
MOBO: ASUS P8Z77-V LX

No idea where to really begin. I mainly play League of Legends and H1Z1. I get nice FPS but as soon as I start streaming it drops and is kinda choppy, making FPS games really hard to bear.

Some settings are as follows:

Hi, I have almost the same settings as you except for bitrate, which I set to 3500 and I'm also using Custom Buffer size also at 3500 and streaming at 60fps. However; "Minimize Network Impact", "Custom x264 Encoder Settings" and "Automatic low latency mode" are all checked off for me.
You can get a glimpse of how my stream looks like here.
Note: Even though my info says I have the Live Gamer HD, at that time I didn't. I started streaming using the capture card on July 28th.

Try lowering your max bitrate to 2500 and setting your process priority class to normal. @ 720p 30 fps, you shouldn't need more than 2500 kbps and even though your speedtest is telling you that you have an upload of 6Mbps, that's an aggregate number and not indicative of your actual upstream. Use this http://testmy.net/upload and see what your upload is.

also the i5 is not the most well equipped processor to deal with streaming the x.264 codec (which uses the CPU for encoding), I have an OC'ed i5 3570k and it can struggle depending on the game which is why I use the NVENC codec instead (uses the GPU instead of CPU to encode).

You have a much better video card than my 770, so try using the NVENC codec and see how that fares for you.

I tested my upload with the link you sent, and it said 5.7mb. I'm going to try using the NVENC codec in a while and see hwo that fairs. Thanks for the reply.
