Question / Help Need help! High CPU Usage/Stuttery video

Hello all,

I recently reinstalled Windows and all of my apps and now one certain applications, mainly games, I get high CPU usage warnings while recording, and the videos turn out very stutter at times.

My PC should be more than enough to handle the load. I'm running the following.

Intel i7 5960X
Asus X99 Deluxe motherboard
16GB DDR4 2800mhz RAM
1TB SSD
2TB WD HDD 7200rpm
2 x GeForce GTX 980 Ti Strix

If you need to know more, just ask.

I have been recording problem free at 2650x1440 until just recently.

I am using OBS v.0657b - 64-bit.

I've tried everything I can think of and desperately need help. I'm even considering upgrading to Windows 10... Dun Dun, dunnnnnnn!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can anyone help? I'm have a bit of luck messing around with some settings, but it's still not smooth.

I'm not streaming, only recording.

Also would there be any difference in recording in SLI vs not SLI (with or without both graphics cards)?

My settings were working perfectly for over a year, and as soon as I decide to reinstall Windows, this happens.

Also, I should mention that my PC upgraded itself to Windows 10 the other night, and performance is a bit better, buy I still get stuttery video from time to time.

Set Keyint to 0 or 2.

It is usually recommended to stream with SLI disabled with OBS.

I don't stream, just record. And if not, why has it worked flawlessly for the past year until recently?
