I need help fixing OBS , ever since OBS keeps their nonsensical "updates" that break the software even FURTHER, my chances of actually streaming are getting less. Like I used to be able to stream L4D2 PERFECTLY FINE but now in-game it gives me performance issues(lag, choppy, framerate loss) ONLY while streaming, off-streaming its perfectly fine but it was perfectly fine before OBS developers take it among themselves and break things so I need help to get it back working. I even tried rolling back and game capture doesnt even work nor any of my alert boxes i have for followers, etc when it did work on recent obs. Wish these developers would stop and think before rolling out useless updates that break things

Also: How do I get Text(FreeType 2) Sources? I saw that in the rollback OBS version but when i went back cuz rollback was pointless, it stayed but i dont see it when i create text source, all i see is Text GDI+

If the update was the problem then rolling back to an earlier version would solve it. Almost sounds like you've changed something else about your configuration!

The FT2 source is deprecated, there's no real reason to use it over GDI+.

One reason I know(which I didn't before rolling back) the gradient text, You can have text with 2 colors at the same time, say red and black and it goes from black on top to red on bottom in a gradient form. How do you do that with GDI+? Only thing I know in GDI is outline but its not gradient and background which isnt gradient too

Also I didn't change anything that would affect anything, I only changed canvas size from 16:9 --> 5:4, but this problem has happened with 16:9 as well as 5:4 canvas resolution, any encoding settings stayed the same from when it worked properly, ill screenshot my settings and add it later to show

It's best to post a logfile from a live streaming session where the issue is occurring; it will help a lot more than a set of screenshots.
And yes, nothing major, just changing the resolution you're streaming at. :b (/s)
