Hello guys, I am currently trying to create the best quality stream that I can. I want to primarily play CS:GO, but add in some other games. I'm not having any problems with single player games, but with LoL and CSGO the connection is always making me play worse and I have to choose between playing well, or streaming with no in-between.

My Current Specs:
  • ASRock Fatal1ty Z97 Professional
  • Intel Core i7-4790k
  • CORSAIR Vengeance 16GB
  • Crucial M4 128gb SSD
  • SAMSUNG 850 EVO 120gb SSD
  • EVGA GTX 970 4gb
Speed Test:

Current OBS Settings:

The problem that started occurring the past few days is my in-game ping is fine, but my connection with servers keeps going up from .01 to 5.0+ (the var. in net_graph) I have no idea on how to make any changes that would make it at least somewhat better.

since you are using 3mbit or your 4,3mbit upload this might be a reason (upload always fluctuates)

your hardware is enough to stream 720p60 so 720p30 shouldnt even be considered as a real task on your i7 + gaming csgo with stable 150-200fps. (this is as a sidenote that you could play around with presets and whatnot)

fixing your problem would either call your isp tell them that you have connection issues or lower your bitrate and see if that fixes it. (lowering bitrate first is ususally the better way)

Thanks for the reply, lowering it just 500 kbs made a huge difference. But the problem now is the FPS goes from 300-400fps to highly unstable 4-100 fluating like crazy when i tried to make it 720p 60fps. Is their a setting I should be playing around with to try to fix that? I haven't had this fps problem before this past week.

EDIT: Current log if it helps. https://gist.github.com/b5688b1523f96b1aff1c

its always suggested to lock your csgo framerate to 150 since 120/144hz monitor and also tickrate of max 128 which means the engine wont even calculate more than 128 frames anyway if you use +fps_max 150 on your csgo launch options you should be fine.

your webcam can also be a throtteling factor, yes its a 1080p webcam but it can cause problems if you use it as a 1080p source (you probably wont stream fullscreen webcam anyway) usually 1280x720 webcam resolution is more than enough.

other than that your log looks fine as a test you could try disabling aero (sometimes its helping with performance issues sometimes its not)

Your thought on my webcam throttling my fps was actually the problem. I can achieve about 300fps now but i have taken the advice to keep it on 150, I really appreciate all the help man!
