Question / Help Need help configuring Epiphan DVI2PCIe

Hello,

I have an Epiphan DVI2PCIe (not the Duo), but it looks like something is missing and OBS does not recognize the device. Anybody have this card or had this issue, how did you resolve it? See screenshots below.

Did you install OBS using the official PPA or by compiling yourself?

Thank you for the quick reply. This is with Ubuntu 18.04. I did not compile myself, I followed these instructions:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:obsproject/obs-studio
sudo apt-get install obs-studio

Does your other vl42 source have the device already active?

Even when adding a first device, nothing shows up as available. I think I see what you are referring to, my properties window screenshot above has the number 2 next to it. I apologize about the confusion. The device list is always blank. I have no other device. I removed all entries and this is a new one.

And there's no options in the "Device" list?

No devices listed.

I was suspecting that there is probably a lower-level configuration issue here, but I didn't see anything obvious when I poked about in DMESG. I'm not sure where to look to resolve this, but I do know the device works. Epiphan's website makes it seem as though the drivers for these are included in distros, do you know how I can confirm that?
