Question / Help NEED HELP CALABRATING RECORDING thx in advance!

hi , I'm new to OBS and I'm new to the forum apology's if I'm posting in the wrong place and thanks for any help in advance. Ive been using obs to stream and recording games for about 5 months now and it works great for streaming but when I simply record games locally it comes out all pixilated looking. some times for the duration some times intermitted but almost always. During the auto installation I set it up for streaming not recording so maybe thats it ??? idk. Sense it does work perfectly for streaming before messing with settings I dont understand I figure ask the experts first. . .that would be you. thanks again

You can configure different settings for recording than for streaming. For streaming, you configure the encoder to use a constant bitrate (CBR). For recording, don't choose "(use stream encoder)" but instead you configure the encoder to use a quality-based encoding method such as CQP or CRF.

In case you use the simple output mode, look in the middle of the configuration, in the "Recording" section, don't choose "Same as stream" but one of the other choices.
