Thank you to everyone for taking the time to look at this and I hope everyone responds. I am wanting to both record and stream as I am new to youtube and am wondering what the minimal specs I would need for a pc (like the processor and stuff like that) to stream at 1080p. Nothing over $1,000 at the moment. I'm wanting to stream like the youtubers typicalgamer and ghostrobo. Is there a pc I can buy that already has what I need to start out or would it be better to build one with the parts you guys provide as guidance? I would love for as many people to respond as possible and I thank you!

Depending on the game you could build a Ryzen 7 PC and pretty much be good to go. For higher end games you might need more in-game performance though and you'll want an Intel i7 6700k or 7700k for maximum framerates, with the streaming video quality being less important.

The higher end is to have separate gaming and streaming PCs, but that will blow your budget.

sorry if this seems like highjacking, but any idea what a dedicated ryzen 7 setup could handle(x264 preset) @720p60fps? I'm aiming to get the best quality at the lowest bitrate as possible.

Not really, I haven't seen enough OBS logs with that CPU yet, nor do I have one myself. For the money though, you'd have to go on ebay to really beat it, and I'm not even sure on that. The main hesitance I have towards Ryzen 7 is in-game performance compared to a legit gaming CPU like an i7 7700k, the Ryzen 7 is far slower.

I use the 6700k in a single gaming/streaming setup at the moment and although it handles 720p60fps just fine, it's not 'bulletproof' and was looking to build a second pc just for streaming. so wouldn't mind that ryzen 7 to be worse for gaming but it has to handle at least slower presets than faster/fast x264 presets.

short story: the cheaper I can build a dedicated streaming pc, the better.(just talking about the case and internals here, not even the capture card(could even nginx for all I care). I'd be happy with any cpu that could handle that 720p60fps at medium preset. One capable of doing 1080p60fps would be nice, but only if the pricetag wouldn't be the double/triple/...

edit: just did some searches on pricetags of the 6700k and the 1800x at this moment and to be honest, it's not really that much different..Although the 1800x should be a'lot'(?!) better for handling streaming and such? I just don't want to buy something totally overkill.
