Question / Help Need Audio help please

So basically I started using the obs multiplatform for recording gameplay because it can record different audio tracks, so I did all my settings setting game audio to track one and mic audio to track 2. When I went to preview the file after I was done recording in vlc only the gameplay audio would play but I could go to audio and select track 2 to listen to my voice. When I put it in premier to edit the audio the same thing would happen but I didn't have an option to edit the mic audio, so I am wondering is there a way to extract my mic audio so that I can put it with the video and gameplay audio? its an mp4 if that makes any difference.

I think I know how to solve your issue/problem.

Then, under "Settings", "Output", and change "Output Mode" to "Advance" and under the "Recording" tab set the "Recording Format" to "MP4" so that is can record multiple audio tracks properly. Then, check the boxes next to "Audio Track" for how ever many audio selections you have (up to 4, and for you would just need to select/check "1" and "2").

On the main OBS MP screen where it says "mixer" with a cog next to it; click that. It should list all the audio options you chose. Which should be at least 2.

Make sure to un-check all the "tracks" boxes and check one box/option for Track 1 and the other for Track 2.

Save the changes and you may have to re-start OBS MP.

Tried to make it as clear as possible - post back with any issues.

Thats how to get to where I'm at yes but I'm asking if there is a way to extract the second track from my already made video. Both sets of audio are there but I want to extract my mic audio because premier isn't registering it as there because its a second track.

OK, Not sure why it won't let you edit it.

How do you make new sequences to edit the video? If you just create a new one, make sure to have at least 3 track in it (in Premiere). That should allow you to have multiple audio tracks in one thing.

Not sure if that helps any. If not, another thing is if you can see the multiple audio tracks, you should be able to right-click the audio tracks and "un link" them and then maybe copy just the audio track of your mic and paste into a new sequence.

At least those are options with the latest version of Premiere Pro - not sure what version you use.

No see when I put it into premiere cs5.5 it doesn't allow me to access track 2 (my mic audio)

Basically I want to extract it because I know its there, I have watched the video in vlc and I am able to flip between audio tracks so both the game and the microphone audio is there, but when I put it into premier I can't seperate it and the only audio that is there is the game audio.

Not sure then; been a long time sense I have used CS5.5 of Premiere so not sure what the interface and/or options are like for that one.

May need to look up tutorials for it online and see if that helps. I won't be any further help for you; sorry. And good luck.

You can use ffmpeg to extract the audio tracks.

I do 4 channel audio recording and use ffmpeg to pull the other tracks I need. I use Adobe Premiere Elements and it only sees the first audio track in a video file.

If you search here I think there are some threads on how to use ffmpeg to do it. I am working on a GUI to make things easier, but it isn't quite ready yet. Works for me, but a couple issues I need to sort.
