Hey there.
i´m here to get some help on finding the right settings for my system.
Testing out so much things, from resolution to bitrates to custom settings on codec, switched back again. one thing is working, the other thing is working but i dont know what i´m doing or what could be the best for my system.
Im running OBS on my old rig:
OC´d Core2Quad Q6600 @3,3Ghrz with g0 stepping
8gigs of Gskill ddr2 ram
nvidia gtx650ti
on 50mbit connection with 2,5mbit upload
My current settings are:
CBR
2000 max bitrate
300 buffersize
(found a guide in this forum how the calculate my max buffersize to get a fixed bitrate on cbr and testet it out but idk)
AAC 128 audio
1920x1080 downscale to 852x480 480p @ 60fps
i could also handle barely up to 720p on 30fps but i like to get a somehow mor smoother stream cause fast movements are t stuttering for me on 30fps.
in advance im on:
multithread on high 400ms
veryfast preset
tune=animation as custom encoder settings
heres also a quick test on 720p 30fps vs 480p 60fps
somehow it does not feel like true 60fps but feels a bit smoother (to me)
720p:

480p:
http://www.twitch.tv/lolsoftlight/b/409537633
thats a past broadcast i streamed with these settings on a variation of different games.

its pretty okay for my old rig, heard about people getting advices to stream on much lower settings on old cpu´s
but anyways, i m not that much of an obs expert so i dont know if my setting may be completly bad.
pls can someone watch over it and give me some advices on how i could improve my settings to get a mix of a good image quality with not overkilling my cpu on 100% load?
it should be optimized for that 480p (maybe up to 600p if possible) with higher fps than 30 to give me a smoothe image.
thank you guys :)
