Alright... So, long time lurker second time poster. Streaming is something I'm pretty passionate about, but have had a few health issues over the last year and I never actually started broadcasting. It's almost as though my hobby became just collecting the hardware/equipment to stream, instead of actually streaming.

I'm looking to build a dedicated streaming pc. I'm open to all platforms, amd, intel, windows, linux. But i have a few questions for each.

Amd - I was thinking of going with an amd 8370, but with no iGPU i would have to add a graphics card which would be an additonal $100-$200. Which makes me think about an intel build, with the igpu basically paying for its self. The performance of the 8 cores in obs, would it beat a 4790k/igpu? How does its performance stack up as a whole.

Intel - My current gaming pc is a 4770k with a 780 ti. Should i just make this 4770k my streaming pc, and build a new gaming rig. Is a 4770k a good dedicated streaming pc? At the time time, I dont think the 4790k is a significant upgrade over what I use now. So i would want to go with at least a 5820k or wait until the intel refresh next quarter. If i go 5820k, the platform cost go up exponentially for the motherboard and ram. So that is the only reason i hesitate there. The cost with intel can be a bit much, and if its not needed should i forgo that in favor of the 8370?

Should i go either one of these platforms and just go with the linux solution.. will i experience a performance impact on my gaming machine at all? I know the least about this option. Although I do have linux experience.

My Current Rig and Capture Card
i7-4770k
evga 780 ti
16gb memory
512gb crucial ssd
Aver media Live c985

I would like to get a micomsoft sc-512... but i game at 144hz, im not sure what would happen with the frame situation or how it would interpret the data. Should i just go with my hdmi, c985, and play at 60hz. Or will a micomsoft sc-512 give me the same issues as if i ran adapter from dvi to the hdmi/c985? The Datapath card is the only option for 144hz gamers that i am aware of? Plus the next question is.. how long before gsync and variable refresh rates become the norm. Should i invest in a card that will just plain not work in the very near future? Once the next generation of Gsync monitors come out, I will want one.. and im sure they only use display ports. So why invest in something so close to being outdated?

Forgive the typos.. i typed this over the course of a few hours and several interruptions.
