Mystery music plays upon OBS start-up

When I firstly start OBS, immediately music plays that is not connected to any scene. Even if I switch scenes or pick a scene and shut off all its sources, the music continues. It seems like an audio file or web page, because the same sequence of songs plays every time. It comes through in monitoring and is present in the desktop audio source. I have never heard these songs (and ads) in my life. Even with the desktop audio control shut off, it still plays. It seems like OBS is simply auto-playing the audio on startup. I really appreciate some help. Previous log file: https://obsproject.com/logs/tEXObqlKiI2ulXzy .

Thank you for pointing that out. I now remember I put in those features, thanks to you. I reviewed and tested those thoroughly, and they're okay and have no reference to a source of the music and ads. They cause visual changes in items based on the current audio. Thanks again.

if you search this forum, you'll find reference to a number of 3rd party plugins that do as you describe (often free plugins, and sound goes away when you get paid-for version... or something like that)

Unless you disabled/removed the plugin, you don't actually KNOW it isn't the source of the sound. right?

I understand your point Lawrence. The plugin PaiSand mentioned is a free Exceldro one for which I'm pretty sure there is no paid version. I haven't loaded a plugin in months, but I realize thanks to you that maybe a plugin is the culprit. I can search the forum as you said to get insights as to which plugin it might be. I know of none on my system that have a corresponding paid version. If anyone knows of such problem free plugins, it's appreciated if they could be mentioned on this thread, but I will search the forum. Thank you Lawrence.

I solved my problem (actually with long past help from the forum). It was a recently made browser source for which I 1) did not check the option "shutdown source when not visible" , and 2) did not check the option "control audio by OBS". If you make a browser source that you leave running even when not visible (not checking "shutdown source when not visible"), then it turns on when OBS starts, not when you first show the source. It's audio turns on at start also. That is addressable by checking "control audio by OBS" and muting the audio control.

Don't you just hate it when software does exactly what you tell it to do ;^)

Thanks for sharing your find, as that is bound to help others (and I'll add it to my mental checklist)
