Question / Help My stream @ twitch lag buffers too much , even though I have 5 mbps upload free.

Hello there , I experience this problem which really bugs me out and discourages me for quality streaming :(

Although I have 5 mbps (5120 Kbps) upload free most of the times (checked) , my stream buffer-lags so much when I set bitrate 1500 kbps and higher. I don't want to stream with bitrate below 1500 kbps , because , you know , low bandwidth , stream looks like s@@t , but above 1500 kbps , buffer lag appears EVEN THOUGH my free upload can handle it , up to 5 mbps at most times.

How to fix this stupid bug? My connection is VDSL 30/10 , interleaved.

The twitch server I use is EU Frankfurt, DE, which is the lowest latency to me (65-70 ms)

Thank you in advance.

Funny thing is that even with rtmp stream to a red5 server (22 ms to red5 server , no twitch this time) I observe the same buffer lag whenever I put more than 1500 bitrate.

TL;DR not much can be done. it has little to do with your upload since your viewers (even if the viewer is you) can buffer because of where the twitch viewer server is. changing your ingest wont help, and I would recommend contacting twitch and keeping your bitrate as is.

Also, just because it lags/buffers for you doesn't mean it will lag/buffer for your viewers. from experience with this, keep streaming at a decently low bitrate (2000-2500) and report issues like this to twitch frequently.

since two services is doing it, it could be a route somewhere with your ISP. not between you and your ISP, it would be between your ISP and your viewers but who knows.
