Question / Help My stream lags too much on some devices/connections

My brother mentioned that my stream on twitch was lagging on a not-to-good internet connection, but that most other streams were doing fine. I then tried to load the stream on my iPhone, it works fine using my home broadband, but viewing the stream through my 3G connection was very laggy. Loading the stream takes 15-30 secs, and it halts very often for about 5 secs.

I tried to compare it with other non-partnered streams, but even other streams at 720p resolution having a higher bitrate than mine, plays smoothly on my phone on the 3G connection. My brother confirmed the same on his own iPhone.

(I checked the bitrate/resolution for those streams on my PC on twitch.tv. Maybe I'm missing something and I can't compare this to what's delivered to the iPhone?)

Lowering my bitrate to 1000 works a lot better, but it still lags more than most streams. I also tried turning off CBR, this seemed to help a bit, but not much. Trying different twitch servers didn't change anything.

Anyway, new to OBS and streaming so any help is appreciated.

As you can read below, you've done what you can (lowering the bitrate). Changing ingests doesn't help because twitch has one main point of output for stream and that is only replicated to other regions as viewers increase, parnered etc. lagging for viewers isn't really in your control for the most part. As the stream stays online longer and more viewers it will get better. I have a stream I watch in the same position and as long as I watch it for over an hour, it seems to correct itself.
