My recordings turn out to be a quarter of the time that I recorded, and are just 2 frames then a gray screen. (I use VLC media player, and posting the file on youtube also doesn't work.)

I have tried just having my game and OBS open when recording, and also restarting many times. Is it just because I'm playing on a trash all-in-one desktop? (6GB Ram, 2 cores, intel i3) I've had this issue for a few months now, but it was fine before that. Please help. Also my log fils just come up with an empty link box so I couldn't include a log file :\
Edit:Now, after re-installing and updating it, it just glitches out and displays random colours and has about 5 to 10 frames of the actual, very laggy footage.

Without a log file, that's pretty hard to figure out what's happening... please try again now that you've updated. Do a test recording, then go to Help -> Log Files -> Upload Current Log file.

If that doesn't work, then could you at least take a screen capture of your recording settings?

Update: It works after many, many restarts, updating again, and watching a video to adjust my settings. I don't know how it was fixed, but it works and produces videos at a steady 50-60 fps. the start is a bit glitchy but I can just edit out that part in my editing process.

Here is the log file I got after I updated OBS: https://obsproject.com/logs/jL-2DNrxvizq4FLN
