Question / Help My recording settings are really good but youtube keeps making my video look really blurry in some spots please Help

So basically I have really good hardware
CPU: i7-9900k
GPU: RTX 2080
and my settings are really good
recording format: mkv / mp4
NEW nvidia Nvenc
VBR 40000 - 60000
0 key frame
max quality and high profile
look ahead and psycho on
GPU 0 and max b frames 2
so why does youtube make my video look really bad even when i turn my game quality a little down shouldn't that help it, also I don't have to turn the game settings down but I do because wouldn't make the video look better on youtube. Also I don't know if this matter but usually my video are about 9 to 10 gigabytes. This is a frame from my newest video.

For NVENC use CQP rate control and a quality setting between 15 (high quality) and 23 (low quality) not VBR.

If you still have quality issues you can either decrease the CQP rating, or try the simple output setting "indistinguishable quality, large file size".

YouTube, however, re-encodes *everything* so some degradation is nearly unavoidable.

If you think that might be the case for you, you can try doing a high bandwidth livestream to a different service, like Twitch or Mixer, and seeing if the VOD there shows similar issues.

I'd also check your color space setting-- you should be on 601 or 709 Partial. If you're using Full range color you will definitely have issues.

I'm currently using the 709 partial and i changed the bitrate to cqp 17 also thanks for the help man really appreciate it

Upscale your video to 3200x1800
Their 1080p quality level has extremely bad bitrate. 3200x1800 gives you the bitrate for 4k videos. Label will be 1440p, but if you check stats for nerds it is now ID 315, while 2560x1440 would be ID 308. 315 is for vp9 4k60.

I have a question do I just leave it at 1080 res and then upscale it and also are the settings the guy above me gave good for this or no

Depends what you prefer. Getting slightly lower gaming performance by doing the upscale directly at capture and then save time at the postprocessing because video already upscaled then
or vice versa.

It's nothing new that video portals use different bitrates per resolution/quality level. And 1080p is just not good on youtube.

I have a 16:10 monitor though. So with a 16:9 monitor my video will have black borders for you at fullscreen. That will obviously be not the case when you use the 16:9 resolutions I gave you.

And yes CQP and 709 matrix was a good suggestion.
