Question / Help MY OBS Studio Keeps Crashing On Start

New Member
Very frustrating at the moment. Solutions, please, before I throw my computer out the window.

Crash report included. Latest update is installs. Already tried reinstalling, rebooting computer. Same BS.

On what floor you are living?.. Any chance to reuse your hw?

Try 64bit exe of OBS Studio at least (bin\64bit folder). Any changes?
 
Looks like one of your image sources is crashing. Please also upload the regular log file (it should still be automatically created). If you have a 64-bit OS, try running 64-bit OBS Studio to get it to load the image, and then you should probably remove/replace the offending image.

Also, I am running 64 bit version. I've used OBS Studio for a while, it's just today that it started happening.

There's the image that's likely causing issues.

Both your logs show a 32-bit OBS Studio.
 
It doesn't give an option to select 32 bit or 64 bit unless I'm missing it. I had to reinstall and I guess by default it selects 32bit?

Anyways. What's the solution for this image problem, please?
 
This depends on the way you run OBS Studio. For example, If you are using shortcut (desktop icon) to start the application then you can adjust path to the obs64.exe file and folder (currently it is set to obs32.exe in your system) in shortcut properties. This can be done in two ways:

1) Right click on desktop icon of obs and click Properties. Then type manually "64bit" instead of "32bit" at Target and Start in fields, click OK button to save changes.

2) There is Find option in Windows file Explorer. Hit F3 key on the desktop, enter obs64.exe. From the list of search results choose obs64.exe that has obs icon - this is required file and path to it, remember it. Now you can adjust desktop shortcut to OBS Studio, right click on the file you just found and choose Send to>Desktop (create shortcut). Now you have new shortcut on your desktop that points to 64 bit (obs64.exe). Run it.
 
Another way to find executables if you have the shortcut handy...
Right-click your OBS shortcut and left-click the "Open file location" option (this is sometimes hidden under a "More" submenu). You will (hopefully) be presented with a folder that has shortcuts for both OBS Studio 32-bit and OBS Studio 64-bit. From here, you can copy or launch either shortcut. If you want to find the program's installation directory, repeat the process with either shortcut (right-click shortcut, left-click "Open file location").
