Question / Help My OBS lags/stops recording after i start to play a game

i just got into OBS and watched a video one it, and i changed my settings to what they have said and when i start to play a game it ether lags in recording or freezes. it still captures audio and all. but the thing is it only happens when i start a match( im play Rainbow 6 seige)

okay never mind it was just apprently too high of a bit rate and fps in combo, what i would like to know is how to save the recordings as something other then Flv because it will not save anywhere else as any other file type
