Question / Help My desktop screen on obs "open"

I just got my computer a week ago and i'm still learning about it.

I have my desktop hooked up to my 42" flat screen TV, and I have windows 10 installed.

Every time I double click "OBS" desktop shortcut to open it, my desktop screen is really small, and as soon as I exit out of OBS my desktop screen go's back to normal full TV screen size.

How do I fix this or what am I doing wrong?

I've recently figured out that when I click OBS and the screen goes really small...

If I go to my display settings and change my resolution to the (recommend) My TV gets normal.

but if i close out of obs and click on it again.. I have to change my resolution again..

It seems to be doing it automatically how do i stop that?
