Question / Help My Avermedia Live Gamer Portable hates OBS

Hello people of the OBS forums I come to you with a problem of which I hope you can solve. You see I use My Avermedia Live Gamer Portable for live streaming and it works for the most part but I can't use skype to talk to people while streaming on it but I hear that you can do that with OBS and I thought since I have the LGP stream engine. I thought I could use OBS since on avermedia youtube shows that I could use it but I sadly can't and I've done all of the tricks I shut down skype and Google chrome and OBS still does not recognize the LGP Stream engine. So I come to you people of the OBS forums for your advice and guidance with this issue so that I can use OBS in its full potential.

I use the avermedia LGP to stream to youtube, and although I'm not recording skype, I do have an additional audio stream added. I'm using the 'Multi Platform' version of OBS, and when I added the LPG as a 'video capture device' in the source section it shows as 'AVerMedia C875 Capture'. This gives me video and game audio from my xbox, I then just add voice chat as a separate audio stream.

Go through this process every time and soon it will be second nature.

1. Close OBS and Skype
2. Start the Stream Engine and make sure the checkbox at the top is Enabled
3. Open OBS and preview stream to make sure the Stream Engine is working
4. Start Skype
5. Now you can start streaming

Been there done that still no go
 
Are you running 32 bit OBS? By default the 64 bit shortcut goes on your desktop.

That's your problem then, It will be installed at C:\Program Files (x86)\OBS by default.

Use the .exe in there.
 
Well I good news I got OBS to work with my LGP for test stream and after that OBS goes back to hating me again I don't know what to do
