Question / Help Mute Audio Permanently from Video Capture Device in Only One Scene?

Edit: Sorry forgot some important details, Windows 10 64bit, Elgato HD60 Pro Capture Card
Hello everyone!
What I'm trying to do here is quite simple, I believe. I often do coop streams with 2 PC's and I have two separate scenes one with my game capture as the focus and a small overlay of the 2nd PC with the capture card. And the other vice versa.
So I'd like to have only the audio source audible from the PC that's in focus at that moment. So for the scene with the capture card in focus is no problem; I just don't add my desktop audio source there. The problem is, as far as I can tell, there's no way to add the capture card's audio as separate source or mute it in only one scene. The best I can come up with is having 2 separate video capture device sources in those scenes, but it's not ideal and looks ugly as it turns off and on when swapping.
Could anyone offer any suggestion or perhaps enlighten me as to how this can be done?

That mostly depends on the capture card, some provide windows audio devices for their input, these can be selected in OBS.

Oh woops completely forgot to say, Elgato HD60 Pro
Edit: All I've got is the "line" virtual recording device from the Elgato Sound Capture software, I haven't tried that yet but I don't think it would help in this case since there's no way that I can see to make it listen to the HDMI audio coming in?
