Question / Help Music rises and falls

I'm a newbie and I don't know what info would be helpful to solve this problem.

I am using OBS to stream to Facebook Live for my church. I have sound coming out of my laptop into our church mix board through one of the mix board channels, and then back into the laptop and OBS from the headphone jack on the sound board. Voices through the mics in the sanctuary sound fine. But music, whether it's piano and flute played live into a mic or it comes from my laptop through the soundboard and back, rises and falls in volume. When the volume falls it also sounds distorted. This happens whether I stream to Facebook or just record on my laptop.

If there is already a thread that addresses this, please let me know. If not, what information can I give you that will help?

Thanks in advance for being patient with me.

New information. This apparently is not an OBS problem. It's something to do with my set up on my computer. I closed OBS, ran my power point and used sound recorder. I have the same problem.

here is a link the the video I recorded on OBS demonstrating the sound problem. https://youtu.be/vNXRQKauYpE

BTW, I'm using Windows 7.

Well, through some trial and error I solved the problem. My Lenovo laptop has a program called SmartAudio that controls things like speaker and microphone volume and how the jack on the side is used. I discovered one of the tabs is for enhancing VOIP. Microphone Noise Reduction and Acoustic Echo Cancellation were active. I figured out how to turn off all the bells and whistles and now the music records normally. I thought I'd share this in case someone else was facing the same struggle.
