Question / Help music in stream

i want to add in a source that shows windows media player to show people a small window of what music is playing but when i go to add it in as a scene i just get a little box. how do i add windows media player as a source so people can see the songs and artists or is there a better way of displaying what music is playing.

Yes, there surely are better ways of displaying currently played song. Have a look at the Guides section (there's also one tutorial in my signature). As about Software Capture, how did you set it up and could you post a screenshot of your problem?

I should get around to writing that guide on how to do now playing stuff with WMP and text source...

Basically you install this plugin, and it lets you output the currently playing song to a text file. If I wasn't busy tonight, I would write up a good guide for it, but it will have to wait until tomorrow.

Under the plugin properties you just put "Author - Title" under Attribute Pattern and then point OBS to the text file it spits out. (default location is C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Media Player\plugins\Now Playing)
