Question / Help Mumble Overlay

Hello, I just started streaming a few days ago and I've had a few requests from viewers to show who is talking in mumble in my stream.

I would like to have an overlay of who is talking show up in my stream but not have it anywhere on my screen capture. Something like a text file that can be read like a streaming music overlay? Is there a plugin or some program that can do that? If not it's not really a big deal I just wanted to see if its possible.

I believe if you capture via Window capture while the game is in Windowed/Borderless mode, it should work.

If you do not want to see it on-screen, it won't capture via Window Capture; will either need it overlaid on the game by Mumble (if it provides that functionality) or a separate Mumble window captured and placed in the OBS scene as-appropriate. You can alter the transparency so the game can be seen through it, but will need to play with that to get it so that both are visible. The Mumble window being captured will also need to be on-screen somewhere (secondary monitor?) to allow it to be updated in real-time.

But no, there are no plugins at the moment to do what you're describing, as far as I'm aware. May want to look through the Plugins forum though to see. Also not sure if Mumble has a function to output a text file like you're describing (you'd need to check the Mumble forums for that though, as it's beyond the scope of the OBS forums).

Mumble has an overlay feature that shows who is talking, like you can see in this picture. It hooks into DirectX and shows it on top of the game. If you capture the game via Game Capture, it doesn't show up, but if you capture the game with Window capture, I believe it will show the Mumble overlay, if it's active.
