Multiple virtual cameras

Can anyone explain the purpose of the multiple virtual camera in OBS. These are labelled OBS-Camera, OBS-Camera2, OBS-Camera3 and OBS-Camera4. When looking at video feeds in, for example, Zoom only OBS Virtual Camera seems to work.

How does one use the other virtual cameras in OBS. Is there a plu-in which allows one to select which virtual camera is being used.

You installed the virtual camera plugin. It's obsolete. Remove it, because OBS comes with a built in virtual camera. It's the camera called "OBS virtual camera", which you already found to be working.

OBS meanwhile comes with built in virtual camera, that's right. But sometimes you would like to have two virtual cameras. For example in Zoom video conference you can use 2 cameras, and you may wish to process both videos. In this case the virtual camera plugin allows you to process up to 4 scenes, which are sent to up to 4 virtual cameras. The plugin still works!

I have downgraded back to Obs Studio v27.2.4, to be able to utilize the multiple virtual camera. I needed it because I usually host a Zoom conference with live audiences too using only 1 device. The Zoom host uses the main Obs virtual cam to show the visual aids while another instance (via browser or sandbox), to capture the live audiences and shown as a participant using the additional virtual camera for the virtual participants to see also. Sometimes i also need a third virtual cam to host another group that are not part of the main hosted group. Until, a new additional virtual cam becomes available, i think i'll stay with version 27.

I really wish built in cam could do the 4 different ones as well. I can send an animated avatar to google meets for on stream and also send the show to meets, another account, for everyone to see in real time. Not having that really sucks now.

Surely that's how it is?
Where do you see the problem?
The VirtualCam plugin provides 4 independent outputs.

No, I had meant the new OBS built in virtual cam. its one only unfortunately.

I did end up getting this to work. I installed the old VCAM plugin. then made myself a portable version of OBS v27. had to register the dll's for the vcam plugin manually but it works so now I can run portable OBS for my virtual avatar and all and use the built in virtual cam in my main OBS to send the show to others in meets/streamyard whatever. works great.

I would like to add, i can't understand why they prevent us from using that anymore in the newer version ! ?? Why that limitation ?
Here a application for Multi cam Virtual -- Preparing multiple presentation send for StreamYard or other stream platform from a studio using multiple physical cam.

For anyone still curious, it still works, it's just that everytime obs does updates, i need to re-install the plugin.
