Multiple videos recorded but I only want one!

Hello all,

Just started using OBS. Generally very happy with it - until today...

I use OBS for recording press conferences and webinars as I'm a journalist (I use the screen capture function). Normally I have no problems but today the software, rather than outputting to a single video at the end of the event, decided to output multiple videos - some only 30 seconds long, some longer. Totally random and impossible to follow.

This has never happened before and it's made the outputted content unusable. I appreciate it could be a setting that I'm unaware of that I may have inadvertently changed - but I'm certainly not aware of anything. So instead of having a single, concise video of the entire event, I've got 7 or 8 bits of video, recorded as separate files which isn't much use I'm afraid.

If anyone has any idea why this has happened and what I can do to stop it recurring, I'd be grateful. Many thanks.

Here's the log file: https://obsproject.com/logs/lKq85-QVtLbKOPSr

Your log shows you are stopping the recording yourself via a hotkey:

15:54:48.748: [ffmpeg muxer: 'simple_file_output'] Writing file 'D:/OBS videos/2021-08-26 15-54-48.mp4'...
15:55:28.384: Stopping recording due to hotkey
15:55:28.614: [ffmpeg muxer: 'simple_file_output'] Output of file 'D:/OBS videos/2021-08-26 15-54-48.mp4' stopped

Thank you. I think I can see what happened here. During the webinar, there was a live chat box - which I used. I guess when I was typing my questions, I hit the hotkeys I had set-up for starting and stopping recording inadvertently. Obvious really - but I never would have thought of it so thanks. I'll have to disable those.
