Multiple Tracks not working correctly

I have desktop audio set to track 1 and mic set to track 2. It records my mic but not my desktop audio. I can see that my desktop audio is going through to obs cause the green bar moves when theres audio coming from my desktop, I am recording in mp4 format and in the recording section of settings I am using audio tracks 1 and 2. What am I doing wrong?

A media player will always play one track at a time only. To hear the other track, you need to switch tracks within the media player.
