Question / Help Multiple Streams

Hello all,

I have searched for "webcam" "simultaneous one webcam" and many other terms, no results... so here we go.

I have two OBSs running with the -multi in the shortcut. (it looks like the below for target)

"C:\Program Files (x86)\OBS\OBS.exe" -multi

I have two of these running, I set them to their respective scenes, and the second one I start can not load my webcam.

I assume this is because my webcam can not be used by two programs.

How may i remedy this problem? Also, will something like this happen often with other types of sources? (Game sources etc.)

Thank you in advanced.

I think a program like ManyCam will let you use a webcam in multiple instances of a program. But you're right, you usually cannot use a webcam in more than one place.

Thanks! I think I will use SplitCam for now.

Can't wait til Local recording during streaming in one client becomes an option.
Also streaming to multiple sites simultaneously with one client.

I love this program.

Well, the problem with streaming to multiple sites is that you have to send data to both sites... so in theory if you're needing to upload a 10mbit stream to two sites you need 20mbit.

Unless there's some jiggery pokery that can be done. Local recording is possible with OBS during stream.. just it uses stream settings to generate a file from my knowledge? Is it that you want a HQ local to go with your stream or?
