Question / Help Multiple repeated frames in recording

i've been getting a bug in my recorded videos, where a frame gets repeated over and over, while audio continues to play. eventually the repeating stops and the video picks up in sync with the audio. here's the log of a recent recording:

does anyone else see the same issue, and is there a fix for it?

Haven't heard similar, do you have a video of the issue? I'm not entirely sure what you mean.

soo... funny story.

it's apparently my computer, and the specific encoder that OBS studio uses.

copy to different computer: plays fine

re-encode with handbrake on original computer: plays fine

original file on my computer: repeated frames, random green screens. doesn't matter which player i use.

i wonder what's going on... has anyone seen this before?

Sounds like a problem with playback hardware acceleration. Make sure your GPU drivers are up to date.

i'll try updating drivers. however, i've been having similar issues for the past few driver versions, so i'm kinda skeptical.

on the other hand: AMD beta drivers... who knows?
