Question / Help Multiple External Vid Cards

Hey people,

Am on a budget and have a question regarding getting multiple cams on the go (no webcam!)... I currently run through a BlackMagic Ultrastudio Mini Recorder via Thunderbolt into my late 2016 Macbook Pro. I want to add a second camera via another external video card. Am looking at the Avermedia LGP Lite via USB 2.0 (I think it's still 2.0 not sure why they don't update this).

My questions are as follows:

1./ Will this work?
2./ Will there be any latency/lag between the two cards?
3./ Will it totally drain my CPU and turn my Macbook Pro into something I can cook on..?

I would use two Mini Recorders, but i've done a test with that and OBS won't recognise both and just crashes when you try to add the second as a source.

Ok cheers!

PS thx for OBS it's totally radical!

Hello!

I can only tell you that you can't use Game Capture for Avermedia. You'll have to use Display Capture or Window Capture.

Avermedia means the Windows version of OBS. They don't supply standard device drivers on MacOS for their hardware. Same with Elgato.
