Question / Help Multiple Channels from single SDI with Embedded Audio.

Hello!

We are trying to use OBS to capture 6 separate audio channels. We use 2 Mono tracks (Left and Right) and 4 additional tracks from external Microphones. We are having some issues where we can get all 6 channels but it's on one track instead of 6 individual tracks.

And then from there we export Tracks 1 & 2, and Tracks 3 - 6 as two separate videos.

Anybody have any ideas on how we can achieve this?

You need 3rd party audio software for this. OBS is a stereo audio program (it also understands surround signals, but it doesn't natively understand multichannel audio from a single device; it's either going to mux everything together or you'll just be missing some of the channels. You either need a DAW or something like Voicemeeter to pull each of your tracks into separate stereo or mono devices to then assign to OBS capture sources (Voicemeeter Potato will give you 3 virtual interfaces, so that might be enough) or if they're separate SDI devices you could use multiple capture interfaces, I suppose.

This is really good to know, thank you! Will this work if we have 6 different XLR inputs going into a Video Rack that then is attached to OBS?
