Multiple Audio Track Issue, Losing Audio Track in long recording sessions

Hello Dear OBS Users and Admins.

My issue here is quite strange.

First, all my hardwares are fine
Then the software configurations are also correct.
I can record short clips with multiple audio tracks, no problem
but when I record a clip to more than 1 hour long, I notice that when playing back the files, I have sometimes lost one entire track of audo.
I tried to record my online lesson with my professor, over the two recordings, the first one I lost the professor's voice, the second one I lost mine.

my voice-microphone
professor-headphone
platform-MS Teams

channel configuration:

I tested my device before, with the built-in device test function by teams. the sound from teams are present and so was my voice.
is there something I missed? does length of recording matter when recording multiple audio tracks?

Weird thing is that I can neither hear my voice in channel 1 nor channel 4, even when checking then files in VLC. However in the short clips I tested before my lesson, the audios were exactly present in where I want them to be present - in both channel 1 and 3/4 respectively.

Any help?

UPDATE:
Note this screenshot of my audio tracks

Note the decending in volume over the time, eventually to no volume at all. This is the weirdest part! I was constantly talking during this period of time and wasn't lowering my volume at all! I did not temper with OBS either during this time! yet my voice started to fade out and eventually dissapeard!!

This is the issue with my second recording. in the first lesson my professor's sound just didn't even start to exist from the begining!

HELP PLEASE!

This is a really interesting issue, but I don't have a clue what might be the cause. Is it Teams-related, or does it happen with other software as well? Do you have external audio hardware such as an external mixer, or do you simply plug in the mic directly to a jack in your computer, as well as your headset?

simple connection. I guess I’ll need to run a test to find out which is the cause. But just to clarify, there is no such option within OBS that does this behaviour intentionally, right?

No, this is not common behavior. There is no function in OBS to lower audio volume over time. Only idea might be some audio plugin you installed.

I believe I do have several Audio Plugins installed in this machine as I use it for audio production as well. but I dn't think those plugins (VST Plugins) should interfere with OBS? is there a way you may suggest me to check?

Still, the fact that this behavior occurs randomly makes me worry

I'm sorry, but I will not guess which audio plugins you might have installed and how they might work. Deactivate/uninstall them, then observe if the issue persists or goes away.

I noticed that my laptop is equipped with onboard synaptic audio processor. Apprently there was a "noise cancellation" option. I hence deactivated that and recorded a 8-hour long session with a video file playing non stop. I was able to record both microphone and system audoi without problem. I'll try to record another session with noise cancellation turned on and see if that would make this issue reappear.

the app is called smartaudio 3. I've sucessfullly recorded a long session of my laptop playing a documentary. but I don't know if the issue would occur again when using teams. I'm gonna try that again.

it happened again! During my session, my voice was suddenly turned down, then back up. I did not touch any settings in OBS, but I muted and unmuted myself during the session. However, this volume change only happened in some of the occasion but not all the time. It is possible tha Teams and OBS has some issue.

I think when I recorded my last session, I had Smart Audio3's "AudioSmartSSP" function turned on. I think.
and I have made sure to turn it off this time for my session, it seems that the volume dropout issue is fixed.
However, there seems to still be some kind of "gain change" in my microphone channel. I have my laptop attached to a dual 6inch fan cooling pad, and the noise of the cooler has been inconsistent throughout the recorded footage. noticablly, whenever I start to say something, the Gain of the microphone in my laptop seem to be raised. I assume this has something to do with Windows' automatic microphone gain setting, or Teams' optimization. so perhaps this has also something to do with my volume issue.

I'll try an external mic next time and see.
