Hi there, im sure this has been asked before, and I've read through the forums on what topics I've found, but none that quite explain it in the way that I see it, so im making a thread and trying to include a very detailed description.
I am currently running on a 1 PC setup and recently bought a pair of Astro A40's with the Mixamp (not the newer 2013 edition).
The newer mixamps override this issue by having an output on them called "stream" which basically mixes all their inputs together for 1 output which can be put as the line in on a PC and used on streaming applications as the master audio source.
The newer mixamps look like this:
However, mine does not have the stream out option shown above, so at the moment, I am using the following setup.
What my mix-amp looks like:
Audio Outputs:
1. Audio Optical TOS Link cable from motherboard -> mixamp (digital out as default windows device for audio, my game, music, and everything except VOIP come out of this cable)
2. USB Cable from motherboard -> mixamp (This is strictly for my VOIP which allows me to use the balance knob on my mixamp and turn down the voip volume if I am in a solo or 1v2 situation when i need higher game volume)
Audio Inputs:
1. USB Cable from Mixamp to Motherboard (same cable as #2 above) -> This is what transfers my voice/microphone to my PC thus connecting my headset for both VOIP input and output.
Now, in order for me to get this working with full functionality of the Mixamp AND allow my viewers to listen in on my VOIP while streaming...
I would like to be able to select multiple audio inputs in OBS as shown below:
(right click and open image in new tab, if you'd like to zoom in on the photo)
OR if someone else has a nice work-around that will work for me, id love to hear it :)
So, that all being said, is it possible to somehow implement dual audio sources, or a second program that can link them both together (without any delay in the audio? I've had no luck with virtual cables, nor do I know how to tinker and fine tune it). Just figured it would be worth asking.
Sorry for all the photos, just hoping I had a good enough description of what I was looking for in terms of functionality.
-- That being said, before I had this mix-amp, ive had absolutely no issues and OBS is truly amazing, just trying to see if I can squeeze a bit extra out of the program. Thanks :D
