Multiple Audio feeds From OBS to Zoom Not Working

Hi,
I have been working with OBS over the last few weeks and have been successful setting up a multi-angle camera system to teach bass guitar lessons. However, I’ve hit a roadblock with the audio and I need help. My objective is to have an audio source for my bass and an audio source for vocal instruction. I’ve been able to hear myself and my bass inside of OBS, but when I try to broadcast through Zoom, there are a number of selections for audio content, but only one of my two sources can be selected. How can I combine my voice and my bass audio sources so they can both be heard on Zoom?

Thank you For your help!

Pick the one of these that fits your (possibly future) channel count:
Run your raw audio to there, not OBS, mix in there, then use the virtual outputs to feed the mix to OBS and Zoom.
  • It'll install a virtual speaker for each of VM's virtual inputs. Send an app to one of those virtual speakers to make it appear in VM.
  • It'll also install a virtual mic for each of its virtual outputs. Connect an app to one of those to receive that mix from VM.
These virtual mics and speakers behave exactly like physical ones as far as anything else is concerned, and should appear in the same selection lists as the physical ones.

Thank you! I downloaded VoiceMeeter Banana. Are the virtual outputs the buttons marked A1, A2 and A3? I’m not sure how to feed those signals back into OBS. I tried different combinations with the aforementioned buttons, but I never saw virtual mics or speakers appear in OBS. The microphone and guitar volume meters show activity in OBS.

I was able to connect my mic and guitar to VMB. There is some latency on the guitar that I hope can be improved because it is affecting my tempo.

Regarding Zoom, I was able to connect VMB to Zoom. I could hear my voice, but the guitar was broken up. I tried adjusting volume levels, but could not get it to come through properly.

Any additional help would be appreciated.

The virtual outputs are B. The physical ones are A. All 5 have their master controls on the right side, just like a physical sound board / mixing console.

Remove the mic and guitar from OBS. You don't need them there anymore, as it all goes through VMB instead.

VMB creates two virtual microphones, corresponding to its two virtual outputs. Connect OBS to those as if they were physical mics. Same list, same behavior.

In the list of input devices that VMB can choose from, I think there are two different methods/drivers as well. Try the other one for that device.

If this doesn't work, then you're probably looking at a full-blown DAW - Digital Audio Workstation - which is a complete sound studio all in one app, that can do everything you ever imagined could be done with audio and several times more...with the corresponding set of controls. Good exercise in overcoming intimidation and doing it anyway. :-)

Regarding Zoom, I was able to connect VMB to Zoom. I could hear my voice, but the guitar was broken up. I tried adjusting volume levels, but could not get it to come through properly.
Zoom is not designed for music. It's designed for voice in potentially noisy environments, with any kind of noise you can imagine. So it has a noise suppressor that is designed to let voice through, but get rid of the rest as much as it can. It's not perfect, but it's a whole lot better than it was!

The problem is that music is not voice. So it thinks your guitar is noise to be removed. What you still hear of it, is actually considered a failure, given how its mission is defined. Later versions might be even better at removing it, leaving you acapella with silent strumming.

See if you can find a setting in Zoom for that, and disable it. If you have a Noise Suppressor filter in OBS, remove that too.
