MP4 recording playback/import issue.

Hello everyone. Hope your all doing well.

So I have been recording in fragmented MP4 using Nvidia NVENC AV1 encoder.

I am having two issues.

First and most important is that I cannot import my finished MP4 files into and video editing software. It is like they are not compatible. They show .mp4 as the file extension but just will not work. I have gone back to older videos I recorded in OBS and they work properly. Those were recorded in MKV and remuxed to MP4.

Second issue I noticed is when I am trying to play my recordings in windows media player that the option to scrub through the footage is missing. I can not skip forward or back at all. The bar is there but not the dot you grab with my mouse to scrub.

Any thoughts?

So I figured out that I am recording clips with AV1 MP4 and not H264 MP4. My editing software is not compatible with AV1 MP4's so I am using https://convertio.co/ to convert them from AV1 MP4's to H264 MP4's. I honestly thought that an MP4 was an MP4. Didn't realize there were differences in the encoding part of it. Learn something new every day.
