mp4 recording is blurry

whenever i record using mp4, my recording is slightly blurry, compared to mkv. i need to have mp4 files since i want to edit my videos using davinci resolve. i change no settings whenever I switch from mp4 to mkv.

specs: rx 550, 5600x

Your post is wrong on multiple levels
First and foremost, follow OBS's advice and do NOT record to MP4.. just don't
if you need MP4 (which you don't.. more below), use remuxing after recording finishes (on my PC remuxing a 8GB+ MKV to an MP4 takes about 10-15 seconds as its only replacing the wrapper, no re-encoding)

And DaVinci Resolve (with v17.2) can directly open/edit MKVs

oh my bad! I thought resolve didn't support mkv format.

Resolve is still a little bit buggy on mkv's. So first remux. It's only a couple of seconds.

Thanks for the info, I upgraded Resolve, but haven't had a reason to edit a video since then, so was unaware of current s/w quality.
