Question / Help MP4 Corrupt

I was recording a 2 hour session for work when I had a power failure. Unfortunately, I was recording in MP4 format (didn't know that MP4 could potentially be a problem). Now the video is corrupt and I am up the creek. From my research, I have found lots of "try this application, maybe it will work" (which I did) but so far no one who has been able to successfully recover a file. Also people have stated "otherwise you have to go to professional recovery experts which costs too much" How much is too much and what is the typical sucess rate for recovery?

Any other way that I have no considered has proven to be successful?

There should be some sort of warning for MP4. I certainlly will never use it again.

Rotab, I have no such warning message, but I also notice I have an older version. I cannot update due to corporate IT restrictions unfortunately.
