Question / Help Moving OBS from W7 to W10

1: I have two pc's...One w-7 and the other w-10..
2: With W7 updates ending soon I want to use my W10 machine for streaming.
3: I already have OBS installed on W10 and it works and streams fine..

My question is...
How do I copy/move ALL my settings, sources, and other data to W10 ???
The main thing is all my sources...Like images, and other stream material or do I have to reinstall it all again?
I know the paths have to be correct or OBS wont see where they are..

Open explorer on both, copy %appdata%\obs-studio from one PC to %appdata%\obs-studio on the other. This will copy the complete OBS Studio setup including all profiles and scenes+sources.
%appdata% expands to C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming, so this might be different between both PCs if you have a different username.
It might be wise to only copy scenes and sources, because your new machine has probably a different hardware/different screen resolution/different computing power and the encoding configuration should be made fresh.
In this case, use the export/import feature of the "Scene Collection" menu and move the exported scene collection file. If you want to copy all scene collections, copy %appdata%\obs-studio\basic\scenes to the same directory on the new PC. You need to visit every setting and every source and update references to hardware, for example webcam or capture card, or audio device names, to the device name on the new PC.

I may just end up re-setting thing up again on the W10 PC because almost all my source data is in only one or two folders.
What you suggest is great but if I have any problems it will be a mess to sort out...
I may just setup OBS in the new pc little by little and this way it will work fine..

Like I said, I already have it running on the W10 and have streamed with it without any problems..

I'll just keep using it on my W7 pc until I have everything all setup and working normally on the new PC..

Something you might be able to do is open the .json files directly and do a find/replace for all your previous source file paths.
 
No, thank you! Having suggested that, I just used that method myself to find the last few missing sources from my own transfer.
