Question / Help Mouse Stutters when stream is online

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone would be able to help me with this problem I've been having. Whenever I stream, at random times my mouse will stutter and not move for a second and then it will start to work again. I've tried all 3 different capture methods and it still does the same thing with all 3. I've attached my log below.

Thank you!

Hey,

according to your logfile everything is looking pretty good. Though the logfile only involves one very short stream using a gamecapture and having your Webcam active.

Those mouse lags normally occur if you reach a bottleneck in your system. It can be a bit hard to point out where this is exactly coming from. My first idea would be your webcam, is it connected to the same USB-Hub as your mouse by chance? (just implying its an usb webcam) You could test doing a scene with only your game capture and no webcam added or by unplugging the webcam for some tests.

Apart of that I would use "Process Explorer" instead of your normal task manager.(http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysi ... 96653.aspx)
Use the System overview. (View->System Information) Let it run in the background while doing some tests and then check the graph for cpu usage/input output/ram and also your GPU usage. If you hover over the different graphs they show you which program was using the system at the time / position of your mouse.

And as always please report back with your findings!

Thanks for the reply Jack0r! In fact the mouse is plugged into the same USB-Hub as the webcam... should I remove it completely or move it to the jack in the front USB-Hub?

I'll run some of those diagnostics you talked about with Process Explorer and return here with results.

Thanks

For testing purpose I would try both ways, if you dont get any lags when its removed, try using it on the front.

hey jackor,

So I tried both ways and it still does it, but not as often if I were to turn the webcam off (not even unplugging it). As for the process explorer, all that it says that runs is OBS, and Dota 2...
